While helping a multifamily property with other repairs we identified a retaining wall as a potential hazard. Before the property could move forward with the repairs, it collapsed. The collapse caused the adjacent hillside to move, resulted in fallen trees and tenants being evacuated due to unsafe conditions. We had the trees clear and wall stabilized in 48 hours, saving the owner thousands of dollars in temporary tenant relocation. After having the area assessed by our geotechnical and structural engineers, we developed and executed a plan to construct a segmental retaining wall, which consisted of significant excavation, grading and a two-phase retaining system.
